EAAP has been delivering programs on animal science for over 70 years. After careful planning, we are this year going to provide some outstanding webinars by inviting top speakers who will introduce subjects related to animal science and the livestock industry to scientists and technicians.
The Webinar series is planned to be organized monthly to inform, update, and disseminate with high-profile speakers the EAAP individual members.
The 26th EAAP Webinar organized in collaboration with the European University Institute is titled Animal Welfare: Bridging Policy and Practice.

🔹 Fabio Gaetano Santeramo – European University Institute and University of Foggia
An expert in agricultural and food policy, Fabio Gaetano Santeramo specializes in market analysis, trade policies, and the economic implications of sustainability in the agri-food sector. With extensive experience in research and policy advisory, he will chair the discussion, ensuring a dynamic exchange of insights between speakers and participants.

🔹 Laura Boyle – Teagasc – the Agriculture and Food Development Authority
A leading researcher in animal welfare, Laura Boyle will discuss how farm animal welfare science has shaped policy, supported its implementation, and helped resolve challenges. She will highlight examples, including how scientists can bridge policy and practice to address issues in pig production.
🔹 Eamon Sheehan – Farmer & Industry Representative – Bawnlusk Dairy farm
As a farmer and advocate for sustainable livestock management, Eamon Sheehan will share a practical example of how scientific advances in animal welfare and EU legislation have positively impacted farming practices, ensuring both ethical standards and economic sustainability.
