EAAP has been delivering programs on animal science for over 70 years. After careful planning, we are going to provide some outstanding webinars by inviting top speakers who will introduce subjects related to animal science and the livestock industry to scientists and technicians.
The Webinar series is planned to be organized monthly to inform, update, and disseminate with high-profile speakers the EAAP individual members.
The 36th EAAP Webinar is organized in collaboration with Dr. Gareth Dyke (Sci-Train).
About the presenter
Dr. Dyke is a highly experienced researcher with over 300 papers in top journals like Nature and Science, and has been training researchers on publishing and peer review for over 20 years, including large-scale workshops across Europe and Asia. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Historical Biology (Taylor & Francis), giving him a deep editorial understanding of the publishing process. Sci-Train, in partnership with Scifiniti, is a recognized provider of academic development programs focused on manuscript preparation, journal submissions, and peer review.
About the webinar
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing the way researchers approach academic writing and publishing. This webinar will provide researchers in animal and agricultural sciences with a practical framework for using AI tools throughout the publishing process, from manuscript preparation and language refinement to identifying the most suitable journal for their research. The session will combine the opportunities offered by AI with established principles of scholarly publishing, with particular attention to ethical and transparent use, academic integrity, and the specific needs of researchers working in animal, agricultural and veterinary sciences.

By the end of this 90-minute session, participants will be able to:
- Identify appropriate AI tools for each stage of the research writing process, from literature review to language refinement.
- Apply AI tools ethically and transparently in their writing, ensuring academic integrity and avoiding common pitfalls.
- Implement a strategic, AI-assisted workflow to identify the most suitable and high-impact journals for their research, with a focus on leading publications in animal and agricultural sciences.
- Evaluate journal quality and scope using AI-driven analytics, minimizing time and rejection rates.

The webinar is aimed at early-career researchers, PhD students and established academics working in animal science, agriculture, veterinary science and related fields who are interested in using AI to make the academic writing and journal selection process more efficient and effective.
