EAAP has been delivering programs on animal science for over 70 years. After careful planning, we are going to provide some outstanding webinars by inviting top speakers who will introduce subjects related to animal science and the livestock industry to scientists and technicians.

The Webinar series is planned to be organized monthly to inform, update, and disseminate with high-profile speakers the EAAP individual members.

The 32nd EAAP Webinar, organized by the Horse Commission of the EAAP, will focus on the role of nutrition in equine health, welfare and performance. As the demands placed on sport and leisure horses continue to grow, understanding how feeding strategies influence not only physical condition but also overall health and well-being is becoming increasingly important.

This edition of the webinar will explore three key topics and provide insights in:

🔹Nutrition & Welfare – In order to respect the horse’s welfare, it is necessary to understand its feeding behavior and the physiology of ingestion. This then allows feeding practices to be adapted in line with the horse’s needs.

(Andrea Ellis, UNEQUI, Science & Creativity Ltd., United Kingdom).

🔹Nutrition & Health – Inappropriate feeding practices lead to increased risks to digestive, metabolic, muscular, and other health issues in horses. Knowing the main recommendations is key to keeping horses healthy, especially riding horses.

(Samy Julliand, LAB TO FIELD, France).

🔹Nutrition & Performance – Horses in training are commonly fed diets at risk to their health. However, it is possible to combine healthy eating with improved athletic performance by adjusting energy sources in the diet.

(Emanuela Valle, University of Turin, Italy).

The webinar will feature three researchers and speakers, each bringing expertise and insight into the relationship between nutrition, health, performance, and welfare. The goal is to provide breeders, trainers, veterinarians, and equine professionals with up-to-date knowledge, practical recommendations, and a space for discussion on how to implement these approaches in daily management. By connecting scientific evidence with field applications, the event aims to identify current challenges, emerging opportunities, and effective strategies to support the horse’s health and performance in a holistic and sustainable way.

By attending EAAP Webinars, you will be able to stay on top of the latest research and gain new inspiration. Connect and network through a range of interactive presentations, discussions and workshops. Get updates on the latest results and opinions about animal science and the livestock industry. You can also use this program also to teach your students.

All registered participants will receive a Zoom link a few hours before the webinar. We invite you to check your spam as well.
